The antique silk brocade Maru obi is woven in a pattern of pine boughs and bridges in a rural scene. The design also has small cranes in flight. It is gold with green, white and copper colors. The maru obi is the most formal of all the obi. It is fully patterned (100%) and is double the width of an ordinary obi. Traditionally the maru was worn with formal attire. The maru is most often seen at formal occasions such as weddings. It is in good condition.
