TAISHO ERA (1912-1926) SILK BROCADE MARU OBI WITH NISHIKI PINE BOUGHS AND DIAPER PATTERNS The silk brocade is woven with gold and silver metallic threads and color silk threads to create a shimmering cloth known as nishiki weave. The pattern is composed of exaggerated pine boughs alternated with ornate diaper designs. The colors are copper, gray, and yellow gold, orange, white, and silver on an light beige field.
