The silk for this haori is lightweight. It has been decorated in the shibori tie-dye technique. The Yokobiki kanoko or square ring dots is the pattern used here. Square or rectangular resisted rings against at dark ground characterize this type of kanoko. The rings are usually somewhat irregular in size and form this creates a casual effect that reflects the fast method of binding. The haori is a beautiful shade of purple (murasaki). The shibori has been ironed flat. The haori is fully lined and has its ties. The haori has a patina of age and there are some spots on the lining. These do not show on the outer garment. 48 x 29.5
