The silk for this visiting kimono is woven in a damask design of flowers, boats and diaper designs. The kimono is decorated in hand painted yuzen. It features geometric shapes decorated in flowers, octagons and diaper designs. The hand painted design is accented in gold paint. Poetry is considered a high art in Japan. Poems are written on ornamented cards. This visiting kimono’s design reminds of these cards. The kimono is fully lined in silk. The bodice is scarlet and the hem is rose. The homongi has some light stains but the pattern hides them well. 49 x 60 sleeves 26
